Joseph Williams


Dr. Williams has been in practice in St. Louis since 1978. He is Medical Director and Founder of the Bone and Joint Institute, where he specializes in the treatment of knee and hip problems, arthroscopic knee surgery, and arthritis surgery for patients needing hip and knee replacements. Dr. Williams goes beyond the office in educating patients. He is a large supporter of informational seminars to the public.

Since 1978, Dr Williams has performed more than 2500 knee arthroscopies. He lectures on arthritis surgery and participates in research studies for new ways to treat arthritic conditions. He recently has begun to implement the Rapid Recovery Hip and Knee Program. Dr. Williams also performs over 300 hip and knee replacements each year.

Dr. Williams trained in medicine at Saint Louis University. He then took that knowledge and used it in serving our country as a surgeon in the U.S. Navy for the next three years. After returning from duty he resumed his education by attending the University of Phoenix for Orthopedic Surgery. Since then Dr. Williams has successfully run his own practice by focusing on patients health care and well being.

Dr. Williams is also President of the St. Louis Arthroscopy Association since 1990. He is on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Missouri Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Dr. Williams is also a member of the Board with the Osteoporosis Foundation.

Dr. Williams was born in St. Louis Missouri. He chose to build a St. Louis based practice where he could raise a family of his own. Dr. Williams and his wife Betsy have raised four children in the great Mid-West.
