Triathlon Custom Fit Knee® with ShapeMatch® Technology

A Knee Procedure Only From Stryker

With a Triathlon Custom Fit Knee® featuring ShapeMatch® Technology, the knee implant can be fit to your unique anatomy. Pre-surgical planning allows your surgeon to use ShapeMatch® Technology during your procedure.

Technologies designed to work with your body

Engineers have studied the complexities of knee biomechanics and movement to create a knee implant that works more like a healthy, fully functioning knee. Stryker is the only maker of a design that flexes, extends and even rotates, from a constant centered point that is based on the way the natural knee moves. This single-radius design may allow you to return to the activities you enjoy.2 The Triathlon Knee is designed to work with your body to help promote easier motion1, 2, 4 for a return to the activities you enjoy2 and a potentially longer lasting implant based on lab testing.3

With a fit that uses your own body as its guide

Your orthopaedic surgeon has selected a Triathlon Custom Fit Knee® with ShapeMatch® Technology in order to fit the implant to your body. The ShapeMatch® process begins with the aid of an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) taken of your knee before your surgery is scheduled. Proprietary software then utilizes the MRI images to create a three-dimensional knee model. With your pre-surgical modeling completed, your surgeon reviews the specifications based on the ShapeMatch® Technology.

A Triathlon Custom Fit Knee® with ShapeMatch® Technology replacement allows your surgeon to perform your knee procedure with customized guides that are designed to provide a fit more closely matching your unique anatomy. With this innovative technology, your surgeon can position the implants to help restore the kinematics of your knee.

Potential for Improved Motion1,2,4

The single-radius design of the Triathlon Knee offers a powerful advantage when it comes to the quadriceps muscle. Clinical studies have found that the single radius design requires less effort from your quadriceps when you move.1 In fact, the results of a recent study show that the single-radius knee required 57% less quadriceps force than traditional knee replacements designed with multiple points of movement.1 Because the thigh muscle plays such an important role in your ability to move your legs, walk and bend, it also may influence how comfortable your recovery will be and how quickly you can get back to living your life.

A potentially longer-lasting solution

Triathlon is designed to resist wear and potentially extend the life of the implant. The Stryker family of knee implants is the only one to feature X3 Advanced Bearing Technology. Laboratory studies show that X3 reduced wear by 96% over competitive premium bearing technologies.3
